The Community Chaplaincy Service : Benoni

A mission and ministry to share Christ’s love in our community with those who have suffered loss, due to displacement, violence, crisis or natural disaster by meeting their needs through faith-based assistance, crisis intervention and support.

As a Chaplain for many years, first as an Emergency Services Chaplain and now as a community Chaplain, I have come to recognize the blessing of  sharing Gods word and seeing His power change lives. This ministry would include devotions at Parades for our local Fire Station and Police Station, building relationships with people and being available to minister in whichever form by offering support and encouragement in times of crisis, loss and trauma.

Assistance may take place in many different ways such as assisting and supporting the destitute, comforting the bereaved, assisting those who are struggling with or facing difficulties of any kind, visiting the sick, attending to the bereaved and offering crisis intervention and trauma support.

We believe in the calling to rebuild community through the renewal and restoration of peoples lives through Jesus Christ, and to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through being present, and to be the salt and light in our community. We want to be fully devoted to Jesus by opening our arms to those in search of the truth. To show God’s love and concern for our fellow man at every opportunity.
Through works of charity and opening our doors to listen and love, we believe that we will be walking in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.

WHO & WHY

God doesn’t care about WHAT you DO but more about WHO you are and WHY you do what you do. Craig Groeschel  writes in his book Divine Directions  “God is more concerned with my WHO and WHY than my WHAT and DO.”
